Splint therapy

If you are experiencing some or all of the following symptoms you may need to consider wearing a night splint.
- Do you suffer from painful, aching jaws?
- Do you have sore, sensitive teeth?
- Do you have a stiff neck and tight shoulders?
- Do you experience regular tension headaches?
- Do you have headaches and sore jaws in the morning?
- Are your teeth wearing down or look short?
These symptoms are indicative of clenching or grinding at night time. Your muscles are over working through the night creating a great deal of stress and tension through the muscles of the neck, shoulders and jaw joints, and to your teeth.
A splint is a device like a mouth guard but is made of a hard acrylic/plastic material and is smaller and thinner. It helps to reduce the amount of force your muscles apply when you grind and prevents premature wear of your teeth.
