Dentures

Dentures (or plates) are one of the options available to replace missing teeth, especially where there are multiple teeth that need to be replaced. Full dentures sit directly on the gums, whereas partial dentures clip onto your existing teeth. They are removable and should be cleaned daily before bed.

Dentures can be fully acrylic, or made with a thinner metal base. It takes several appointments to make a denture because moulds and measurements need to be taken and the fitting checked before finally processing.

It is best to make sure the supporting teeth and gums are healthy before starting to make a new denture so that it will be more stable. If there are badly broken teeth that need to be removed first, some time may be needed for the gums to heal.

Every denture is unique and made specifically for you! Make an appointment with your dentist for a check-up and work out what options are best for you.
