Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry is the combination of a variety of routine or standard dental procedures with the primary aim of improving the appearance and function of your teeth. These treatment protocols can include:

  • Home Tooth Whitening – a safe and gentle bleaching gel is used in a thin custom made mouthguard-like tray to lighten the colour of your teeth. This is provided in a take home kit which is worn each night for 2-3 weeks.
  • Micro-abrasion – if you have particularly dark coloured patches on the front of your teeth, these areas can be very finely abraded away in the surgery to achieve instant and painless improvements. Ideally, this can then be followed up with a home tooth whitening kit.
  • Composite Veneers – using conventional white filling materials, they can be bonded over the front teeth to help mask discolourations, re-contour chipped or misshapen teeth and help close up spaces. The advantage of these veneers are they can easily be repaired and often negate the need to cut healthy tooth structure. These veneers can be placed on single or multiple teeth.
  • Porcelain Veneers – similar to composite veneers, these thin shells of porcelain are used to re-shape and re-colour the teeth. They don’t stain as easily as composite veneers and can look better for longer. They do require the removal of some tooth structure to get a really excellent tooth contour. In multi- unit cases, they can improve your smile by making the teeth look straighter.
  • GlamSmile Veneers – a NEW and Minimally Invasive technique for constructing wafer-thin porcelain veneers. Ideal for reconstructing a whole arch smile by placing 8 to 10 veneers on the teeth at once. No needles needed since hardly any drilling is involved and the whole process is completed in 2 visits.
